2016 New York Auto Show: Honda Clarity Fuel Cell for USA to be unveiled

On March 21, American Honda announced that they will unveil the Clarity Fuel Cell for USA, a new fuel cell vehicle (FCV), at the 2016 New York Auto Show in the USA on March 23, 2016.

The Clarity Fuel Cell had its world premiere at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show in October 2015. It was introduced as a production car with high usability and a seating capacity of five passengers. This is the first time in the world that a mass production of FCVs is happening, and its fuel cell stack as well as driving system have been successfully mounted inside the front hood. Through this, an excellent packaging was created.

Honda plans to unveil the Clarity Fuel Cell for USA at the 2016 New York Auto Show. The Clarity Fuel Cell for USA will be available in three colors. The available colors are Black, White, and Red.

Moreover, as for its driving range authorized by the US Environment Protection Agency (EPA), it can cover a maximum of 483km with a full tank of hydrogen. Hydrogen refilling can be done in just three to five minutes. According to American Honda, it is the most powerful in its class.

Furthermore, it adopts the Honda Sensing safety equipment as an advanced technology. It can also be connected with Apple’s CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto apps. The Clarity Fuel Cell was manufactured in Japan, and will be released in the USA within 2016, initially in California. Its local price is roughly 60,000 dollars (approximately 6.7 million yen). For lease-type services, its monthly payment fee is 500 dollars (approximately 55,000 yen).
