The time has come for the unveiling of the next-generation Subaru Impreza. We’ve managed to get the latest news on the Impreza 5-door hatchback model as well as an artist’s rendering.
The next-gen Impreza Sport uses the Subaru Global Platform. It is reported that the design will be quite close to that of the Impreza 5-Door Concept, which was unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. It appears that there will be some redesign for the mass market model, including changes to the headlights and air ducts. The rendering shows changes to the kick-up design at the rear quarter window.
In addition to the updated 2L NA FB16 Boxer 4-cylinder DOCH engine and 1.6L turbo engine, there’s a good chance there will be a Toyota hybrid model.
It is not known whether the new model will use the Impreza Sport name. The Japan debut is expected to be made in November, 2016.
