Mazda CX-3 & Roadster made it to the top 3 for WCOTY design award

On March 1, the three finalists for the 2016 World Car Design of the Year have been revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show held in Switzerland, which was sponsored by World Car of the Year (WCOTY).

The World Car Design of the Year is one of the award categories under WCOTY. This time, they will select one car with the best design out of the new models that were debuted from autumn of 2014 to autumn of 2015.

As for the conditions, the cars are being sold in at least one market around the world until spring of 2016. Five design experts will be added to the 74 journalists from 23 countries to judge the finalists.

The three finalists for the 2016 World Car Design of the Year are the following:

Mazda CX-3
Mazda Roadster
Jaguar XE

The final three selection is dominated by Mazda with two models. The CX-3 and the all-new Roadster were included in the finalists. It has become a one-on-one fight with the Jaguar XE, which is a new small sedan by the British automaker Jaguar.

The 2016 World Car Design of the Year awardee will be revealed at the 2016 New York Auto Show, which will be held in the USA on March 23. Last year, the Citroën C4 Cactus was awarded with the World Car Design of the Year award.
