Toyota Industries announced that the Toyota 86 GRMN will use its plastic quarter windows and plastic rear windows.
The 86 GRMN is a sporty model limited to just 100. Designed along the idea of “the fun of driving at will,” the plastic windows are part of the effort to make the model light and decrease its center of gravity.
The windows use polycarbonate to achieve 50% reduced weight compared to existing products. The plastic quarter window has a new hard coating to improve its scratch-resistance and the rear window is the world’s first to include fog prevention heat lines.
