On February 22, 2016, Toyota Motor Europe (TME) announced that they will unveil the Proace Verso at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland in March 2016.
In July 2012, Toyota Motor Europe and PSA Peugeot Citroën had an OEM agreement where PSA will supply original equipment (OEM) for small commercial vehicles to Toyota in Europe. Based on this agreement, PSA has been providing OEM commercial vans based on the Peugeot Expert and the Citroën Jumpy to Toyota as the Proace.
The Proace had minor updates in December 2015, making the new one its second-generation model. They continuously receive OEM supplies from PSA, and its production will take place in PSA’s factory in Valenciennes, France. Aside from having Toyota’s emblem on its front and rear parts, the Proace also has different parts from Peugeot and Citroen, such as its front bumper and grilles, as well as the design of its headlights.
The Proace Verso, which will be unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, is a new Proace passenger vehicle. It was categorized under the large MPV category in the European market, and it can accommodate up to nine passengers.
Furthermore, it is set with three different overall lengths. It adopts advanced safety equipment as well as convenient parts. Toyota Motor Europe stated, “The Proace Verso is an ideal travel and leisure companion for families and groups.”
