The all-new Nissan Titan

2016 Chicago Motor Show: Nissan debuts new half-ton Titan pickup

On February 11, Nissan North America unveiled their all-new Titan at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.

The Titan is Nissan’s full-size pickup truck for the North American market. Nissan established its second-generation model in January 2015 and changed its name to the Titan XD.

This new Titan that was recently launched in Chicago is the standard version of the Titan XD, which offers half a ton of maximum payload. This half-ton Titan features the same name as the original model.

While the Titan XD offers a total length of 6,167mm and a wheelbase of 3,850mm, Nissan has trimmed down the exterior length by 373mm to 5,794mm and the wheelbase by 300mm to 3,550mm for the new Titan.

The powertrain is the same 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine as the Titan XD, which generates 390hp of maximum output and 55.5kgm of maximum torque. The transmission is a seven-speed automatic system. Unlike the Titan XD, this half-ton Titan will also be feature a V6 gasoline engine in the near future.
