Rendering sketch of Honda's S2000 successor

Honda’s S2000 successor somewhat resembles the S660

Rumors have been swirling from last year about the ‘Baby NSX’ being the ‘successor to the S2000’ as Honda’s new mid-ship sports car. However, we have received information along with a rendering sketch that indicates that these two vehicles are different.

The information and images are of the successor to the S2000. Though its size is unclear, the front end and sides are designed not like the NSX, but rather like the S660.

With its rival being the Mazda MX-5, it comes equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo VTEC engine that generates close to 200ps of maximum output. It is highly likely that Honda will not be establishing its initially rumored hybrid model.

By incorporating lightweight materials such as aluminum on the body, the weight has been reduced to no more than 1,300kg. Honda’s new sports car may be launched sometime in early 2018.
