On February 10, Mazda announced that it will unveil a new diesel model for the Mazda3 (the Axela in Japan) at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show next month in Switzerland.
Mazda3 is the automaker’s third model to feature its 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-D diesel engine in the European market following the Demio and CX-3.
The Mazda3 has been the top-selling Mazda vehicle in Europe for many years. The new diesel model will appeal to consumers of Europe’s leading diesel market.
For the manual transmission model, the 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-D offers exceptional environmental performance with 26.3km/liter of fuel-efficiency and 99g/km of CO2 emissions.
Mazda stated that the 1.5 SKYACTIV-D model features the best fuel-efficiency out of all Mazda3 models ever produced for the European market.
