Nissan Serena

Nissan Serena Review: “It lets you drive at ease regardless of your driving skill” by Naoki Aoyama

The Serena is set to have a full model change this year. I once again test-drove its current standard model, which is being improved, while anticipating the new model. I then recognized the Serena as a vehicle that gives off a family minivan characteristic even for the Highway Star.

Its back seat has two-step flooring, which is different from the Voxy, the Noah, and the Stepwagon models, but the sides of its front and back seats have big curvatures, enabling you to smoothly sit on and disembark from the seat, and it has even nearer ground clearance. Its front seat also has a low crosswise blind spot through the trace lines on the front doors. Anyone can certainly drive conveniently with it.

When I drove this model, it had stable steering operation, comfortable ride quality, and when I turned it to another direction, it had gentle engine output performance, which is just a little bit noisy. In other words, even though I turned the steering wheel and it surpassed the road bumps, and even when I forcefully stepped on the accelerator, I did not experience any inconveniences. The Serena lets you drive naturally at ease regardless of your driving skill.

Moreover, it has excellent ecological and advanced safety performance with its ECO Drive Navigator that enhances gentle acceleration, which is directly connected to the fuel-efficient driving, full monitors, and standard emergency brake (auto brake) for all of its grades. Moreover, it also obtained a high evaluation with the Advanced Safety Vehicle-Plus (ASV+) rating in the JNCAP evaluation in 2015.

However, there are also parts of it that make you realize that this model debuted in November 2011. For example, with the huge vibration and engine sound during idling stops, the walk-in function of the slightly heavy operation in the second row (as you embark or disembark from the third row) was set lower towards the floor, so it feels more comfortable to sit on the third row seat. Even so, it is easy to drive, and with the Serena’s unique seating arrangement, it can accommodate many passengers. Its price has also been discounted as of now, so it’s about time to purchase it. Purchase the Serena, as you can be satisfied with it at a discounted price.
