The Fit is Honda’s flagship compact car. The racing concept of this car will be unveiled in India.
This was confirmed by Honda Cars India Ltd. in January 13. It was announced that the racing concept of Jazz (Japanese name: Fit) will be unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Motor Show (Auto Expo).
The new Fit was released in India in July 2015. It is equipped with a diesel engine exclusive for the Indian market, appealing to the customers its excellent environmental performance. The diesel engine is a 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged i-DTEC diesel engine from the Earth Dreams Technology. It produces a maximum output of 100ps/3600rpm and a maximum torque of 20.4kgm/1750rpm. The transmission is a newly-developed 6-speed MT. According to Honda, the Indian version of the Fit has 27.3km/liter fuel consumption and is leading among its class.
There’s also a version mounted with a gasoline engine. The 1.2-liter i-VTEC produces a maximum output of 90ps/6000rpm and a maximum torque of 11.2kgm/4800rpm. If mated to a CVT, the fuel consumption is 19km/liter.
As of date, details regarding the Fit’s racing concept set to be exhibited in the 2016 Delhi Motor Show have not been announced yet. It is a concept car that shows the allure of motorsports.
