Mugen Civic Type R Concept (2016 Tokyo Auto Salon)

2016 Tokyo Auto Salon: Many attendees notice the Mugen Civic Type R, looking through its extremeness

Honda exhibited the Mugen Civic Type R Concept’s more enhanced performance at the Honda-Mugen booth during the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon held in Makuhari Messe in Chiba. It caught the attention of many attendees.

This was based on the actual model presented at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, and it was thoroughly customized by Mugen. Its exterior parts were cultivated with the know-how they acquired from racing events, and they decided the design of its parts through repeated wind-tunnel testing with the model’s exact size in order to make an aerodynamically-compatible design. Aside from the better embellishments of its front parts just like emphasizing a race car’s nose, they removed its fog lamps, and they also thoroughly reconsidered the shape of the bumper area and improved its aerodynamic efficiency.

Furthermore, both of its front tires were equipped with rectifiers that look like turning vanes; this setting was also applied from wind-tunnel testing. Aside from that, the designs of its side and rear parts were also emphasized in aerodynamic style. This model was completed for high performance when driving in town areas, as if it’s making you want to do a time attack in a circuit. This Type R model, which is the fastest in its model history, was customized, and some of its parts were trimmed.

Moreover, the model exhibited at the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon was a prototype model, and it was designed with Mugen’s colors. There were many attendees who stopped by to look at it during the three-day event. As for its sales, they will still be working on further details hereafter.
