Honda Motor Company has announced its US prices for the all-new NSX to be released in 2016.
The new NSX and its lightweight body is equipped with a newly developed 3,493cc direct injection 3.5-liter V6 twin turbo engine on its mid-ship layout. This engine generates 500hp/6,500-7,500rpm of maximum output and 56.1kgm/2,000-6,000rpm of maximum torque.
It features a highly efficient and highly powered three-motor hybrid system called Sport Hybrid SH-AWD. The layout consists of three motors with two motors in the front and one more at the back combined with a 9-speed dual clutch transmission. The motors generate 73hp of maximum output and the overall system produces 573hp of power.
Moreover, the new NSX features an automatic 4WD hybrid system that allows for torque vectoring, which controls the driving force of its four wheels through the two motors that operate the front tires independently. The weight distribution is 42/58 (front/rear). The cargo weight has been withheld to 1,725kg as a result of utilizing lightweight materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber. It reaches speeds of up to around 307km/h.
On December 18, Honda’s luxury brand, Acura announced its prices of the new NSX for the US market. The base price is 156,000 USD (approx. 19,000,000 yen). Acura will begin accepting orders from February 25, 2016.
