Isuzu D-Max, which is the second-best selling pickup truck in Thailand, just got a facelift. It’s also drawing attention for its 1.9L 1.9Ddi Blue Power turbo diesel engine, which was downsized from the previous 2.5L. The new engine could be seen at the company’s booth at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2015.
The 1.9Ddi puts out 150hp and gets 350Nm maximum torque. It has a 6-speed Sport Shift manual transmission. Another major feature is that it surpasses 161g/km in its CO2 emissions.
As an option, drivers can choose a powerful 3L turbo diesel version that puts out 177hp and gets 380Nm torque for an even sportier drive.
The facelift to the Isuzu D-Max includes changes to the exterior like LED daytime running lights, a more aggressive front grille, and 18-inch wheels. Drivers can also use an information display that uses a touch screen for Isuzu Connect and a new interface.
The new D-Max is making a bid to take on its first-place competitor the Toyota Hilux.
