Honda unveiled the BR-V mass market model at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2015 in Bangkok on December 1.
Honda exhibited the BR-V prototype at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2015 at the end of August. Just three months later, the mass market model has made its debut.
The BR-V has an SUV-like exterior and handling along with a wide interior. It is suited for a wide variety of uses.
The power train is a 1.5L direct-injection 4-cylinder gasoline i-VTEC engine. With its new 6-speed manual transmission and CVT, it offers a sporty driving performance and excellent fuel economy.
The BR-V will be assembled at P. T. Honda Prospect Motor’s 2nd plant in Karawang, Indonesia, starting January 2016. There are also plans to build it in Thailand.
The mass market model’s design closely follows that of the prototype. It has LED headlights and 16-inch aluminum wheels. Honda says, “The BR-V represents the next generation in Honda cars.”
