At the Thailand International Motor Expo 2015, where Toyota is a major player, the automaker displayed the Fortuna that made its worldwide debut this year in July. In Thailand, off-road SUVs are extremely popular.
The Fortuna, which is in its 2nd generation, is an SUV with three rows of seats and a striking design that’s aimed at developing countries. The body is 4795mm long, 1855mm wide and 1835mm tall with a 2745mm wheelbase.
The power train is a newly developed direct-injection 2.8L in-line 4-cylinder turbo diesel that puts out 177ps and has 45.9kgm of torque. It’s a tough model that can handle all kinds of driving conditions from rushing about on urban highways to cruising smaller city roads.
