2015 SEMA Show: Toyota builds a life-size toy car with Tonka 4Runner

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. (TMS) world premiered the Tonka 4Runner at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas on November 3.

Tonka is an American toy brand. The company excels in producing toy trucks. The Toyota 4Runner is a mid-size SUV for the North American market. The 4Runner is the updated version of the Hilux Surf, which had been sold in Japan until the summer of 2009. Currently, this model is sold mainly in North America.

Toyota teamed up with Tonka to create the Tonka 4Runner that made its world premiere at the 2015 SEMA Show. The 4Runner is a life-size Tonka toy car.

The development theme was “The perfect off-road adventure.” To improve off-road driveability, it is mounted with an exclusive suspension that increased the vehicle height by approximately 250mm. It is also outfitted with 20-inch wheels and off-road tires.

The wheels and Tonka’s logo are in yellow. It is mounted with exclusive front and rear bumpers, side steps, ladder, and roof rack. The roof is fitted with a pop-up tent.
