2015 SEMA Show: Scion to showcase customized iA with chain-link steering wheel

Scion, Toyota’s ‘youth brand’ in America, will unveil a customized iA unit at the 2015 SEMA Show to be held in Las Vegas on November 3.

The Scion iA was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show in April 2015. The iA is the first Sedan for the Scion. So far, the main products in Scion’s lineup have been composed of smalll hatchhbacks to two-door coupes. By introducing a four-door sedan, Scion aims to acquire new customers.

The iA is based on the new Demio Sedan that Mazda primarily produced for the Southeast Asian market. The grilles, bumpers, and headlights are exclusively designed and presented just like a typical Scion.

Eddie Huang Scion iA, which was handled by Eddie Huang who’s known for his restaurant management and popular TV comedy, will be unveiled at the 2015 SEMA Show. The Scion iA was transformed into a classic lowrider.

Its body color is all painted in yellow, while the widened front grille opening is polished with gold.

The combination of thin-spoke wheels and the white ribbon tires gives it a classic feel. Its highlight is the interior, in which the steering wheel has been changed into chains.
