Dongfeng Nissan, the joint venture of Nissan Motor and Dongfeng Motor, released the all-new Qashqai in China on October 16, 2015.
The first-generation Qashqai was released in China in 2008 as the first vehicle in the crossover segment. Its total sales in China from March 2008 up to July 2015 reached over 600,000 units. It has achieved a total of over 1.8 million units sold in the entirety of Europe.
The all-new Qashqai has both a more polished exterior design and a premium interior; hence, this crossover car allows you to feel enjoyment when driving. Through its excellent performance, this car became significant in the Chinese market as it corresponds to the needs of zealous young people who are fond of cars.
Its new platform was based on the CMF by the Renault-Nissan Alliance. As for its powertrain, it is equipped with a new-generation 7-speed manual mode Xtronic CVT mated to either a 2L direct fuel injection engine or a 1.2L turbocharged direct injection engine. It has also been equipped with various advanced technologies such as Independent Suspension, Active Ride Control, Active Trace Control, Active Engine Brake, double mode vehicle inspiring power steering, Intelligent Parking Assist, and the like, to have a higher performance.
The all-new Qashqai was designed in Europe. Its dynamic and athletic style was brought about by adopting Nissan’s latest global special signatures like the V-Motion Grille and boomerang-shaped LED headlamps. Moreover, its 2,646mm-wide wheelbase gives off ample space around the cockpit near the driver as well as the passenger seats, and its zero-gravity seats reduce fatigue in driving for long hours, thus offering more comfort.
According to Managing Director Susumu Uchikoshi of Dongfeng Motor Company, “Through the excellent design and functionality of the all-new Qashqai, this will become the next game changer in the Chinese market. This new model will fascinate the young Chinese customers and it will strengthen the leadership of the Dongfeng Motor Company through this segment.”
