The Subaru Forester has undergone significant updates to its current model. Three years after its debut, Subaru has enhanced the fourth-generation Forester’s safety and performance as a SUV.
Along with Subaru’s EyeSight (Ver.3) safety assistance system, the upgraded Forester is the automaker’s first model to feature its Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB). The ADB detects oncoming traffic through its EyeSight stereo camera and smoothly adjusts the irradiation range of the high beams through its shields inside the headlights.
In addition, Subaru has added LED high and low beam lights as well as Steering Responsive Headlights, which moves the headlight axis left and right in response to steering.
For the exterior, the updated Forester features redesigns to its front bumper, rear combination lights, aluminum wheels, and new body colors. Along with enhanced quality, the interior offers a new color LCD multi-information display at the center that shows the status of EyeSight and SI-DRIVE (Subaru Intelligent Drive). It also comes with rear seat heaters and a power seat memory function on the driver’s seat for a greater sense of luxury.
The top-of-the-line 2.0XT EyeSight is equipped with a 2.0-liter horizontally-opposed 4-cylinder DOHC direct injection turbo engine. It combines with a Lineartronic CVT and generates 280ps of maximum output and 35.7kgm of maximum torque. It offers a fuel efficiency of 13.2km/liter (JC08 mode). The exterior measures at 4,595 x 1,795 x 1,715mm (length x width x height) and the wheelbase is 2,640mm long.
