Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo

2015 Tokyo Motor Show: Nissan specializes design philosophy for 2020 Vision Gran Turismo

The Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo, which will be released by Nissan at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, was designed based on Nissan’s “emotional geometry” design philosophy.

Nissan Global Design Headquarters Design Department Design Director Keisuke Otsuki talked about this matter. Specifically, he mentioned, “The geometrically sharp quality and the combination of its emotional parts contrast. Our aim is to be conspicuous about those aspects.” Further, he commented, “This car was designed with a renewed form.”

Moreover, it has also adopted a V-motion grille. He explained, “It is designed with a concept where its form starts from the V-motion grille and it follows with the entire form without limiting it to only just a simple grille design. In this concept car, the V-style flows into the sides, resulting to it being its main character.”

This model has a virtual design for the game, but it was created as a real ‘show model’ for motor shows. There are several differences between the game and concept models, but beyond those things, its body color stands out. “It adopts a new ‘Fire Night’ color, which is very flashy yet austere, and it is wrapped in a matte and metallic feel.” (Otsuki)

Moreover, he mentioned regarding the V-motion grille, “We made a few changes from the original one and then we designed it to emphasize its form more. We designed it to make its V-motion grille look like it is the main part of this model.”
