The new Infiniti Q30, which the luxury brand unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show recently, uses the same powertrain as the Mercedes-Benz A Class.
The Q30 is Infiniti’s first compact. It’s Infiniti’s offering for the same segment as the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series, Mercedes-Benz A Class and Lexus CT.
There are a total of five engines for the Europe spec model which includes 3 gasoline and 2 turbo. The gasoline engines are headed by a 2.0L in-line 4-cylinder turbo. The others are the standard 1.6L in-line 4-cylinder turbo which puts out 122ps and a higher output version of the same that puts out 156ps.
The diesels are a 1.5L in-line 4-cylinder turbo that puts out 109ps and a 2.2L in-line 4-cylinder turbo that puts out 170ps. These five engines are the same as those of the Mercedes-Benz A Class including specs.
Infiniti says, “The Q30 shares its compact car architecture (for the A Class) and components with Daimler. Infiniti designed it from zero with the customer’s needs in mind.”
