2015 Frankfurter Motor Show: Official images of Nissan Gripz sport crossover concept

Nissan gave the world its first look at the new Gripz Concept, a compact sport crossover aimed at young drivers, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15. We’ve come into a stack of official photos of the new model and here they are.

The exterior is inspired by the Datsun Fairlady 240Z, a legendary racing car that raced in the 1971 Safari Rally. It was designed through collaboration between European and Japanese designers. The idea was to put together the practicality and efficiency of a crossover with the driving performance and excitement of a sports car.

The body is 4100mm long, 1890mm wide and 1500mm tall with a 2580mm wheelbase. Nissan designed it with the “Emotional Geometry” design concept. It’s equipped with a dash camera to further improve Nissan’s safety technology.

The power train is the Pure Drive e-Power series hybrid EV system that uses the same technology as that of the Leaf. It has the same motor as the Leaf, which puts out 109ps and offers 25.9kgm torque. It’s equipped with a gasoline engine.
