On August 20, Daihatsu unveiled their recently updated Xenia at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).
The Xenia is a 7-passenger MPV with three rows of seating that Toyota and Daihatsu developed together for the Indonesian market. Toyota’s version is called the Avanza and Avanza Veloz. Since it was released in 2004, the Xenia has been a highly popular model in Indonesia and continues to be a best seller.
For this minor upgrade, Daihatsu has installed a new 1.3-liter engine along with changes to its exterior and cabin. This new engine has improved its fuel efficiency by around 16%. In addition, the suspension has been tuned to generate less noise and vibration as well as enhanced driving stability and comfort.
The Daihatsu Xenia is priced at 151 ~ 187 million rupiah (approx. 1.35 ~ 1.67 million yen) with a monthly sales target of 5,000 units.
