Honda BR-V Prototype (GIIAS)

2015 Jakarta Motor Show: Honda establishes new BR-V crossover in Indonesia

On August 20, Honda Motor Company unveiled its BR-V prototype at the press day of the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).

The BR-V prototype is an all-new crossover utility vehicle with three rows of seating for seven passengers. The power train is a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine combined to a new 6-speed manual transmission or CVT. It generates 120hp/6,600rpm of maximum output and 145Nm/4,600rpm of maximum torque.

The Honda BR-V is expected to be priced at 230 ~ 265 million rupiah (around 2.3 ~ 2.65 million yen) and scheduled to begin production at the Karawang plant in January 2016. It’s likely to do well in the Indonesian market where seven-passenger minivans are highly popular.

In addition, the release of Honda’s CR-V Special Edition Fender Audio and the HR-V Special Edition JBL Audio, both featuring exclusive audio systems were also announced at the press conference.
