On August 20, Honda’s joint venture in Indonesia, PT Honda Prospect Motor unveiled its BR-V prototype at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show (GIIAS).
Along with its SUV-like exterior and handling, the BR-V is a compact crossover that features a spacious interior and exceptional convenience.
The power train is a 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder i-VTEC gasoline engine. Combined to the new 6-speed manual transmission or CVT, it offers a sporty ride and excellent fuel-efficiency.
Honda is scheduled to commence production of the BR-V in January 2016 at PT Honda Prospect Motor’s second plant in Karawang to release it early next year in Indonesia.
PT Honda Prospect Motor’s President Tomoki Uchida said, “The BR-V was developed to fulfill the needs of our Indonesian customers. We’re certain that it will attract a lot of attention at this motor show and become a popular model in Indonesia.â€
