The Works tuners, directly from the manufacturer, launched a test driving event, gathering their complete car models in one location. NISMO participated in the joint test driving event with three Works-tuned machines: the Elgrand, the Note, and the GT-R. This time, I’m going to introduce the Elgrand and the Note that are equipped with NISMO parts.
The cars with NISMO grades, such as the Duke, the March, the Note, the Fairlady Z ,and the GT-R are becoming the main products of Nissan, and the development of these cars is ongoing. These cars are also lined up as catalog models. As for the other cars, NISMO set the package option called the Performance Package to develop their parts and complete the models. Also, they are conducting the development of parts intended for customers who want to enjoy sports driving regularly.
The Elgrand NISMO Performance Package changed its aero parts, aluminum wheel, muffler, and suspensions, and this package option is also combined with an ECU tuning called Sports Resetting.
If you want to get all these parts, you can avail of them through the A kit, which costs 775,000 yen. (Installation fees for 18 inch wheels excluded; Sports Resetting included) The price of the parts, excluding the abovementioned Sports Resetting, is 645,000 yen. (Excluding installation fee for equipping 18 inch wheels)
The legroom of the test drive cars felt tight; in particular, the neutral position of the steering is sharp. Models that have characteristics of NISMO-like handling are completed with settings that make their running performance enjoyable.
The NISMO parts equipped to the NISMO S catalog models are added with sporty parts. Its base model that has 17inch wheels, an exhaust system, and suspension costs 2,244,240 yen. The test drive model that is equipped with LSD and the likes costs 2,552,040 yen.
Its transmission that is equipped with Quick Shift has an active shifting and it feels good. Aside from the engines that are tuned similarly with the Sport Resetting, the test drive models are equipped with lightweight flywheels. Therefore, their pick-up is great and their engines rotate with a good feeling.
Its data transmitter Kit can also be considered as its best feature. Nissan developed the smartphone application together with the GT-R NISMO. And with the exclusive data transmission kit developed for it to be also used in other NISMO developed models, the information from the car, including speed, acceleration, and deceleration G can be certainly used as a data logger tfor showing the lane when you run at the circuit, and as well as accelerator opening and brake pedal force through the GPS function.
