Lexus announced that it will introduce the 2016 ES in the US in mid-July.
Lexus unveiled the 2016 ES at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show in April. The current ES is the 6th generation model. The 2016 model unveiled at the motor show has the first major changes since the current 6th gen model’s debut 3 years ago.
The 2016 ES has been given a new look with newly designed headlights and bumper. Lexus has also added its signature spindle grille. The “L” daytime running lights are a new item, as well as the new tail lamps and aluminum wheels.
Improvements to the interior give it even more of a sense of luxury craftsmanship. There are four seat colors including flaxen and black. Buyers can choose between three materials including semi-aniline leather. There are also four choices for the trim panel including Piano Black. It has a newly designed steering wheel and a 4.2-inch multi information display at the center of the instrument panel. The new ES is also equipped with the Lexus Safety System + advanced safety system.
The flagship grade for the US is the ES350 gasoline grade. It has a 3.5L V6 gasoline engine that gets 268hp. It includes a 6-speed AT transmission.
