On July 23, American Honda unveiled the 2016 Accord.
The last model change for the US Accord was in September 2012. Whereas in Japan, only a hybrid and plugin hybrid (PHV) model are available, in the US there is also a gasoline engine model.
The changes for the 2016 model are the first major changes for the current model since its introduction three years ago. Changes include not only upgrades to the interior and exterior, but also changes to boost its product appeal. Honda is offering two body types, a 4-door sedan and a 2-door coupe.
The front mask has been given a facelift with newly designed grille, headlights, and bumper. The rear has new LED tail lamps and bumper and the new Accord has 19-inch aluminum wheels.
The interior has a 7-inch touch panel. The 2016 Accord is the first Honda equipped to use Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. All grades have Honda’s latest safety system, Honda Sensing.
