Honda Motor Corporation will introduce the new Civic Type R to Japan this autumn. A foreign media outlet has reported that Takahiro Hachigo, the new president of Honda, is looking forward to the release of this vehicle.
Automotive News Europe reported this on July 14. Hachigo responded to the interview of Automotive News. He said, “There is a model I want, which will, as I have told you, be launched this autumn.”
Hachigo has a reason for wanting to have the new Civic Type R. According to Automotive News Europe, Hachigo worked abroad for a long time, and currently does not have a car of his own in Japan. Hachigo loves his Honda VTR 250 motorcycle and wants the new Civic Type R, whose older model he designated as his private car for many years.
The new Civic Type R is equipped with the newly developed VTEC turbo, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct-injection gasoline engine. It draws out 310ps/6500rpm maximum output and 40.8kgm/2500rpm maximum torque. It has a 6-speed MT. Honda is proud of its 0-100kph time of 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 270kph.
Hachigo said to Automotive News Europe, “I want to buy the Civic Type R. I will wait for it to be introduced in Japan this autumn.”
