On July 16, Toyota Motor Corporation debuted its all-new Fortuner.
The Fortuner was launched back in 2005 as a SUV model for its IMV (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) project series to develop vehicles for emerging markets. Currently, these vehicles are being sold in markets such as India, Southeast Asia, South America, South Africa, and Russia.
In January 2012, the Fortuner’s first significantly updated model was unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo. Toyota enhanced its attractiveness by undergoing a full overhaul to its exterior and throughout the cabin.
Toyota’s recently launched all-new Fortuner is its second-generation model. The exterior measures at 4,795 x 1,855 x 1,835mm (length x width x height) and the wheelbase at 2,745mm. It was developed to become a more stylish and elegant 7-seater family-type SUV than its first-generation model.
Just like its predecessor, the all-new Fortuner offers a powerful driving performance as well. The power train is a newly developed direct-injected 2.8-liter inline turbo diesel engine that generates 177ps of maximum output and 45.9kgm of maximum torque.
