A direct-injection 1.5L turbo engine version of new Honda Jade 6-seater minivan called the Jade RS went on sale May 28.
The Jade RS has the same downsized turbo engine that was used in the new Step Wagon, which was released in April. However, the intercooler and exhaust intake are unique to the Jade. As far as driving performance, compared to the Step Wagon it has more linear torque and gets more G’s at higher RPMs.
Like the Step Wagon, it gets 150ps and 20.7kgm torque. It gets 18.0km/liter on JC08 mode. The transmission is CVT and it has a paddle shift specially made for the RS.
In addition to enlarging the front and rear stabilizer, it has a shock absorber made especially for the RS, and the damper settings are new. The front roll stiffness is improved 15% compared to the hybrid model and the rear 20%, giving it a sportier driving performance.
For the exterior, the front grille, front headlights, rear combination lights and wheel design are unique to the RS. The interior also has a sporty feel with a sports pedal and red stitching on black leather.
The price is 2,720,000 yen for the hybrid and 2,530,000 for the RS.
