On June 18, Daihatsu announced that it will release the Copen Cero, the third model for their lineup of Copen mini sports convertibles. To accompany this release, Daihatsu has raised their sales forecast for the Copen series from its previous monthly target of 700 units to 800 units.
The Copen Cero features Daihatsu’s Dress-Formation that allows you to switch its body panel with the Copen Robe, which was released in June 2014. By changing its outer panel, the exterior can resemble other Copen models. The “dress up†parts are scheduled for release this October with the complete set priced at around 350,000 yen.
At the launching ceremony held in Tokyo, Executive Officer Toru Ueda said, “We feel that there will be constant demand for our Dress-Formation as it allows our customers to personalize their vehicle easily.†As for Daihatsu’s development of mini cars for the future, he added, “We would like to add more enjoyment along with good fuel-efficiency for a low price.â€
