Honda Motor Company has announced that it will release their all-new Step WGN on April 24. This fifth-generation model comes equipped with a downsized 1.5-liter VTEC turbo engine and offers a fuel-efficiency of 17km/liter (JC08 mode).

This new engine generates 150ps/5,500rpm of maximum output and 1,600-5,000rpm of maximum torque. It was developed with a direct-injected system, small-diameter turbine, and dual VTC to produce torque even at low rpms. Honda has established a CVT system for its transmission.

In addition, this all-new Step WGN features the Waku Waku Gate, which opens upward like a regular tailgate and also functions as a sub-door for added convenience. The sub-door opens sideways at three levels of angles at 35, 57.5, and 78 degrees depending on the situation. The sub-door also allows easy loading and unloading of cargo as well getting on and off the vehicle from the third row of seating.

The exterior measures at 4,690 x 1,695 x 1,840mm (length x width x height) for the G grade. The wheelbase is listed as 2,890mm and the cargo weight at 1,650kg.

The Honda Step WGN is priced from ¥2,288,000.
