2015 Shanghai Motor Show: Suzuki premieres iK-2 in China, to launch production model for the country

The iK-2 Concept Car had its debut in China at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, which kicked off on April 20.

The iK-2 had its world premiere at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. With “harmony” as the inspiration, this concept car is an excellent fusion of elements required by compact cars, such as design, practicality, comfort, manueverability, running performance, and fuel economy. The iK-2 is the ultimate compact car for Suzuki.

The exterior is reminiscent of the energy of flowing water. The design is elegant, keeps the height low, and draws out the width that demonstrates its dynamism.

The overall length and height are 4023mm and 1450mm, respectively. Meanwhile, the overall width, which includes the left and right mirrors, is 1920mm. The chassis uses a next-generation lightweight platform. It has a direct-injection one-liter gasoline turbo Boosterjet engine which has low fuel consumption, and offers a powerful driving performance.

The iK-2 is making its premiere in China at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. Suzuki explained, “We are planning to launch the production version of this concept car in China.”
