Subaru WRX S4

Subaru WRX S4 Review: “A comfortable sports sedan that does it when it has to do it” by Yoichi Moroboshi

ns steadily when driving on winding roads. One can easily acknowledge its high potential because its basic chassis and body is the same as the WRX STI. A pretty profound sports driving is possible when turning into a corner. You can enjoy its sports sedan-esque running performance.

The size of the S4’s equipped tire is 225/45R18. The average tire size of a European vehicle that has 300 horsepower class engine is around 245. However, the S4 has received 300 horsepower with its narrow tire. The AWD (4WD) drive system made this possible. The torque on one wheel is quite different compared to when distributing the engine torque to four wheels or receiving it by the two rear wheels. The big and thick tires have good styling and its performance limit is improved. However, it is absolutely disadvantageous in terms of riding comfort. The many parts of the S4 rely on its narrow tires, which is the biggest reason you feel its gentleness, if you compare it to 300 horsepower class competitor sedans.
