Toyota Motor Europe debuted the newly improved model of the Avensis at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show that kicked off in Switzerland on March 3.
The Avensis is a model that belongs to the D segment in Toyota’s European lineup. The current Avensis is the third generation model.It was unveiled at the 2009 Paris Motor Show in autumn. It was given its first significant improvement for the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
It has two body types, that of a sedan and that of a station wagon. Although it was designed by the design studio in France, its development was led by the Belgian R&D Center. Its manufacture will be carried out in the United Kingdom. Currently, only the station wagon model is available in the Japanese market.
The current Avensis that debuted in this show is a model that was given a second set of significant improvements. It looks fresh with its newly designed bumper, grille, and LED headlights. Its tail lamps also use LED lights. Its Aluminum wheels also have a new design. The steering wheel and the 4.2-inch information monitor in the interior are also new.
Its engine changed to the new-generation D-45, a 2.2-liter in-line four-cylinder turbo diesel engine mainly used in European models. Its maximum output draws 143hp and its maximum torque is 32.6kgm. Its European composite model gas mileage is 22.2km/liter and its CO2 emissions reached 119g/km. Its Emission performance meets the Euro 6’s.
