The Suzuki iM-4 Concept had its world premiere on March 3 at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.
The iM-4 is a unique compact 4WD SUV. The concept for its development is “to have inspiration take a form.” It has Suzuki’s 4WD DNA and latest technologies packaged in a unique design. As a newly proposed model of compact car, the iM-4 can be used in different fields of activities, offer the possibility of self-expression and having more fun, and inspire its passengers.
The exterior’s design is new and offers passion and familarity despite being simple. The iM-4 features the Escudo’s clamshell bonnet and the Swift’s blacked-out A and B pillars, together with Suzuki’s 4WD SUV. Furthermore, it also features other familiar Suzuki designs like the the first generation Cervo and Fronte Coupe’s C-pillar, which has been moved from the side to the rear.
The iM-4’s overall length, width and height are 3693mm, 1709mm and 1566mm respectively.
It is powered by SHVS, a mild hybrid powertrain with a 1.2-liter dual jet engine. It aims to have low fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions. It also features the next-generation lightweight platform. According to Suzuki, it realizes a comfortable running performance even in unpaved and snow-covered roads because of the 4WD system and the high ground clearance.
