Mazda launched its new compact crossover model SUV CX-3 on February 27.

The new model CX-3 is the fifth generation of new products to fully use the SkyActiv technology and the design theme ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’. The CX-3 was established as an exclusive vehicle with a clean SKYACTIV-D1.5 diesel engine. It runs excellently with a maximum torque of 270 N.m that exceeds what most 2.5 litre gasoline engines are capable of, and this is at a great fuel consumption rate of 25km per liter (in JC08 mode).

Also, all grades come with the options for AT (SKYACTIV-DRIVE), MT (SKYACTIV-MT) and the new generation 4WD system i-ACTIV AWD. Regardless of its driving system and transmission, it is already exempt from weight tax and income tax in all grades.

The SKYACTIV-D 1.5 was newly developed with a “natural sound smoother” that can control the knocking sound, the first to use it in the world. Its engine sound quality has been improved as well its as its quietness during running.

Moreover, it is also equipped with the car connectivity system “Mazda Connect” and the advance safety technology “i-ACTIVSENSE”.

Its body size has an overall length of 4,275 mm while its wheelbase is 2,570 mm, achieving a comfortable proportions and sufficient space. Its total height was set to 1,550mm which enables the car to park on a multistorey parking, raising its user-friendliness to urban daily life.

Its market price runs from 2.376 million to 3.024 million yen.
When you avail of Japan’s purchase subsidy system, a maximum of 160,000 yen will be provided for the XD Touring Package 2WD (2.808 million yen).
