On February 24, Honda Motor Company announced that they will unveil the production model of their all-new Jazz (the Fit, in Japan) at next month’s 2015 Geneva International Motor Show.
Honda showcased the prototype model for their new Jazz at the Paris Motor Show last fall. Half a year later, its production version for the European model is set to make its debut in Switzerland.
This production model will pretty much resemble its prototype. It will be equipped with a 1.3-liter inline 4-cylinder i-VTEC gasoline engine that features Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology and produces 102ps of maximum output. The Japanese model’s 1.5-liter engine will not be available to the European market.
As for its transmission, the all-new Jazz comes available with either a 6-speed manual or CVT. The 5-speed manual transmission from its previous model was enhanced into a new 6-speed system. For the Japanese market, the 6-speed manual transmission is only available on its 1.5-liter RS model. Honda has combined a 6-speed MT to its 1.3-liter engine this time to meet the requests from their European customers.
The new Jazz will be released in Europe this summer and will become the newest rival for the European B segment.
