Honda unveiled the new 6-seat hybrid minivan Jade on February 13.
The new Jade features an ultrahigh-density low-floor platform for which the underbody and underfloor components are thoroughly downsized and efficiently organized. It features three rows of seating in a low-height, stylish body that’s compatible with most multi-level parking garages. The first row of seating offers an excellent ride with a good view and the new seat-sliding mechanism allows the second row to also enjoy comfort and a good view. The third row can be used for a variety of uses.
The power unit is the Sport Hybrid i-DCD hybrid system, which is based on the 1.5-liter direct-injection DOHC i-VTEC engine. It combines a high-output built-in motor that allows for a comfortable driving for all speeds from low to high and a fuel efficiency of 25.0km/liter (JC08 mode), which puts it at the top of its class.
For better safety, it has the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body and Pedestrian Injury Mitigation Body, which protect the driver as well as the driver of the other car in a collision from injuries. Luxury grade Hybrid X comes with Honda Sensing, a radar system that expands the scope of detection to include pedestrians, as standard feature.
The basic grade hybrid’s price is 2,720,000 yen and the Hybrid X is 2,920,000.
