Lexus transforms LF-LC concept into GT racer for Vision Gran Turismo project

On January 30, Lexus unveiled the LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo, which was born out of the Vision Gran Turismo collaboration project with the Sony PlayStation 3 game “Gran Turismo 6.”

The Vision Gran Turismo collaboration project enlists worldwide car makers and brands to design cars for the “Gran Turismo” series. The game allows drivers to enjoy a virtual driving experience.

The LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo is a racing version of the LF-LC hybrid sport couple concept car that Lexus unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2012. It was designed to be run at races like the Super GT or the 24 Hours of Nürburgring endurance race.

With the LF-LC as its base, its most compelling feature is its form, which uses specially-designed aero parts. Lexus explains, “It puts together a design based on Lexus’s design philosophy creatively realized by Calty Design and the practical approach that’s always been used by Lexus Racing. It’s a GT car that combines sculpture-like beauty and practical performance.”
