Toyota Motor Corporation premiered the new Tacoma at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show on January 12. The two grades bearing the TRD badge also debuted at the same time.
The new Tacoma will be available in two grades: the TRD Sports and the TRD Off-Road. These models were developed to reflect more than 35 years of Toyota’s off-road racing history.
The TRD Off-Road will use the Multi-Terrain Select system. This system will allow drivers to change the vehicle’s settings to match the present road conditions, from muddy roads to sandy roads. Furthermore, putting emphasis on off-road driving, the Tacoma TRD will come with Auto LSD, Locking Rear Differential, Hill-Start Assist Control, Clutch Start Cancel (only for the manual Tacoma TRD), and Active Traction Control.
