Toyota made the world premiere of its new full-sized Tacoma pick-up at this year’s Detroit Motor Show, which opened its doors on January 12.
In addition to its 2.7-liter in-line 4 cylinder gasoline engine, it’s also the first in its segment to offer a 3.5-liter V6 version. This V6 is a newly developed unit that uses an Atkinson cycle with Toyota’s direct injection D-4S technology.
The new Tacoma’s transmission is 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual is available for the V6 version. According to Toyota, this gives it more power than the existing version and also increases fuel efficiency.
