The 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon with NAPAC opened on January 9 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. The customized version of the flagship sedan, the Legacy B4 Blitzen Concept, and the Super GT entry, 2015 BRZ GT300, are displayed at the booth to demonstrate Subaru’s motorsports and customization perspectives.
The main exhibit, the Legacy B4 Blitzen Concept, is the successor to the popular Blitzen model. The exterior features the distinct color Premium Red, and the wide and low styling depict a boxer engine. The interior shows a simple but functional design with the piano black finish and red lines coordinated to the beige leather materials.
Three other custom show cars will also be displayed: the XV Sport Concept, a vivid Sunrise Yellow colored Subaru XV with lower ride height equipped with yellow striped spoilers for a sportier look; the performance model Levorg S Concept, a complete STI-tuned car that embodies the philosophy of the S Series; and the WRX S4 Customized by PROVA.
Other exhibits in the motorsports field other than the Super GT include the WRX STI for Japan Rally Championship, and the WRX STI NBR Challenge 2015, a new racing car for the 24 Hours Nürburgring Endurance Race.
“It’s easy to show Subaru’s charm and strengths at the Auto Salon.” Kunihiko Nakata from the Marketing Department of Fuji Heavy Industries said regarding the enthusiasm on Tokyo Auto Salon.
He added, “To show the directionality of our motorsports and customization, we have arranged the show cars this way: the custom car faces the front when viewed from the entrance, while the motorsports car faces the front when viewed from the back. Please come to the venue and see our two perspectives.”
The stage events used ‘motorsports’ as a keyword with General Manager Tatsumi and racers talked about their extreme racing experiences and other general topics to liven up the venue. Subaru’s booth is a fun place where everyone can enjoy the exhibit. In the “Lock On Field Stadium,” the concept car designers talked about their respective designs. Kids can also enjoy the children’s rides prepared for them. BREEZE also had a performance at the Subaru booth.
There are also available interactive content available for those who are unable to come. The events in the Subaru booth will be broadcasted live on Ustream and Nico Nico Video. Moreover, you can request what you want to see or know by tweeting it using the hashtag #subaru #tas2015, and the on-site staff will upload photos or videos on Vine for you.
