The 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon with NAPAC opened on January 9 at the Makuhari Messe. A lively performance was carried out together with the opening ceremony.
Movie actor Sho Aikawa came up on stage together with the officials of Chiba Prefecture and the board of directors of Saneishobo, as he assumed the role of ambassador of the Tokyo Auto Salon for the fourth consecutive year. He went around the venue on the morning prior to the grand opening and he gave his welcome remarks by saying, “This year is filled with more enthusiasm than last year. To all the car lovers in attendance, please have fun as it looks like we are going to be having an immensely enjoyable festival.”
This year as well, before the opening, Japanese drum player TAKERU in collaboration with motor sports ink artist Hiroshi Tarui gave an intense musical performance which quickly enlivened the venue. In addition, the four A-class image girls that were selected for the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon were also in attendance to support the ceremony. The various events inside the venue will be conducting all sorts of PR activities during the exhibit.
The newly built international conference hall is being used as the display space in time for the opening of this exhibit. The number of booths reached a record high of 4163 (3880 booths for the previous year), which resulted to the opening of an auto salon with the biggest exhibit area ever. The exhibit will be held until January 11.
