On August 3, Nissan Motor Company revealed some of its aerodynamic performance for the all-new Leaf scheduled for launch in early September. Through reduced aerodynamic drag and improved stability, the new Leaf will enable longer cruising on a single charge.
The newly designed Leaf is lower to the ground compared with its current model, helping it realize zero lift for enhanced stability at high speeds. The redesigns also ensure stability of the vehicle when hit by strong crosswinds.
Moreover, Nissan’s engineers designed its ideal aerodynamic body through inspiration from airplane wings. I guess we’ll find out pretty soon what the connection is between zero lift and aerodynamic lift generated from airplane wings…
