On 5 January at CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Nissan made an announcement about the next generation of their Leaf model.

The current (first generation) Leaf has been sold in Japan and the US since the end of 2010, this market eventually being expanded to other regions such as Europe. Newer models with improved battery capacities were introduced in subsequent iterations, allowing for greater operational range and consumer usability.
The Leaf has sold over 250,000 units worldwide, securing Nissan’s spot at the top of the EV food chain.
At CES 2017, in working to keep their spot at the top a sure thing, the company announced that they would be showing off the next generation of the Leaf at a near date, and we’re sure one can look forward to a new model with even greater operational range and move advanced technology.
Chairman and CEO of Nissan Carlos Ghosn stated that “With the next generation of the Leaf, we’ll be opening up the next chapter on Nissan Intelligent Power.â€
