According to the United States National High Traffic Safety Administration, Nissan has recalled the latest model of its Maxima luxury sedan and Murano SUV in the United States.
The recall is due to a defect in the brakes. According to the NHTSA, there is a risk of brake fluid leaking into the ABS pump, which could cause an electrical short and possibly fire.
The recall applies to the 2016-2017 Maxima and 2015-2017 Murano models equipped with Intelligent Cruise Control. It applies to a total of 120,329 cars sold in the US.
Nissan North America is contacting owners of the recalled vehicles and carrying out inspections and exchanges of ABS actuators at dealerships.
