On April 12, Lexus announced that it had reached a total of one million hybrid sales and it held a ceremony to commemorate delivery of its one-millionth hybrid.
At the ceremony, which was held in Milan, Italy, Lexus Europe’s Alain Uyttenhoven handed over the one-millionth hybrid to the customer. The car was an NX300h.
The owner of the NX300h is Aldo Pirronello. He said, “This is my first Lexus. When I first saw the NX300h, I was impressed by the design and the advanced hybrid technology. I was surprised to find that I would be the one-millionth hybrid buyer and I’m glad to be part of this important moment for Lexus.”
Lexus Europe’s Alain Uyttenhoven said, “Lexus is a pioneer in hybrid technology and we offer a robust lineup of models. We’ve managed to deliver our one-millionth hybrid because of our advanced hybrid system technology.”
Lexus International’s president Tokuo Fukuichi said, “The hybrid drive system continues to be our core vehicle technology to help reduce CO2 emissions, while providing a pleasurable driving experience. We have set ambitious environmental goals for 2050, and hybrid popularity worldwide is extremely important if we are to achieve those goals. Today, Lexus manufactures ten hybrid models, with more on the way. I’m pleased over 1 million customers worldwide have put their faith into our hybrid line-up.”
