Nissan and BMW team up to build fast-charging stations in the US

On December 21, Nissan and BMW announced its collaboration to provide fast-charging stations throughout the US market.

This announcement concerning the expansion of charging stations is highly advantageous for customers of both the Nissan Leaf and BMW i3 electric vehicles.

The charging stations, which feature 50kW dual port fast-charging systems, will be established at 120 locations within 19 states in the US.

The battery can be charged to 80% of its capacity in about 20 to 30 minutes. Moreover, both Nissan’s CHAdeMO and BMW’s SAE Combo chargers will be installed at the stations.

“Through our unity with BMW, we want to expand the number of fast-charging stations and offer more sense of relief to customers of EVs in the US,” said Andrew Speaker, Director of Electric Vehicle Sales at Nissan North America. “Together with Nissan, we will work to offer easier rides for long distances to as many drivers as possible,” said Cliff Fietzek, Manager of Connected eMobility for BMW of North America.
